In 2003, I walked in to a facility in Mumbai and was struck by the design aesthetics of the interiors. I told my office to find out who the interior designer was and arrange a meeting.
One week later, a young man, with a soft demeanour and a lot of confidence & conviction in his eyes, met me at Phoenix Mills. I first complimented this man for the good work that he had done and that it was the fresh approach to design in his work that caught my eye. During the meeting, I explained to him that I was a fussy customer and would not settle for any kind of compromise.
Besides having a design background, working with me would be quite a challenge. He readily accepted the challenging conditions and I agreed to assign the work for our Mumbai showroom at Phoenix Mills to him. This is how I first met Zubin Zainuddin, the founding partner of ZZ Architects, few years ago.
The showroom interiors were very well done. Again it was the fresh, innovative approach and the attention to detail that helped create store interiors that drew appreciation from every single person who came to the store. This laid the foundation for a great relationship that was established over several projects that were to follow.
ZUBIN IS WELL SUPPORTED BY A BUSINESS PARTNER WHO HAPPENS TO BE HIS BETTER HALF AS WELL. KRUPA AGAIN HAS A MUCH UNDERSTATED PERSONALITY AND IS A QUIET PERFORMER. THEY
